Robbie's Nashville Halloween night jump turns into 2 great jumps! |
Kaptain Robbie Knievel continues to set records. His Friday and Saturday night,
back to back jumps were no exception. Robbie went into Nashville to help promote Glo-Tech's new glow in the dark paint. The paint is designed for bicycle frames as a safety feature for kids. Now, what screams "safety" better than bringing in the best motorcycle daredevil in the world to fly over cars in complete darkness? Team Knievel went to work building the landing ramp and assembling the take off ramp
so they could be painted with the glow in the dark paint. The promoter
brought in $150,000 worth of blacklights and a rock and roll band. All that was left was for the Kaptian to do his thing, and boy did he. Around 8:30 PM Robbie put the leathers on and started the show. If you have never
seen Robbie perform live, you have no idea how intense his show is. Robbie Knievel, despite being 46 years old is the best high speed wheelie rider in the world, and he proved it both nights. Robbie rode the full distance around the 5/8ths mile racetrack on one wheel at nearly 65MPH. At 9:00 PM sharp, Robbie climbed onto his jump bike and started his speed runs. Minutes later, as he has done hundreds of times, Robbie left planet earth and flew 200 feet making it look easy. Robbie then took the microphone and thanked the crowd for sharing Halloween eve with him and suprised everone in attendance by telling them that he decided to come back and do it again the next night for free! Robbie told the crew he didn't want to leave out the kids that went trick or treating!! |

Many thousand Kaptain Robbie Knievel fans were on hand to witness history over the
weekend at LCO Casino in Hayward Wisconsin. Once again Robbie's show caused traffic backups for miles and the event was pushed back nearly 70 minutes. During the delay a tremendous storm blew into the area leaving the parking lot and the ramps soaked. With the sun setting Robbie started the show . Shortly into his warm up runs, Robbie took a horrible spill on the wet asphalt and slid nearly 60 feet, dislocating his shoulder. End of story, right? .........Not for Robbie Knievel! in true Knievel fashion he climbed onto his jump bike and completed the World Record jump before being taken to the hospital to have his shoulder repaired! Robbie would like to thank all the concerned fans who have called and e-mailed their get well wishes! |
