Robbie Knievel History

 Robbie Knievel HistoryRobert Edward Knievel, named after his paternal grandfather was born on May 7, 1962 in Butte, Montana to mother Linda and father Robert Craig Knievel, known to the world as "Evel" Knievel.

The Knievel famly includes; a brother Kelly and two sisters, Alicia and Tracey. He also is the father of two daughters, Karmen and Krysten and a loving grandfather to two grandchildren, Analise and Kane.

Robbie began riding motorcycles at the age of four and began jumping by the time he was 7. At age 10 he was racing Motorcross and went on to flat track racing at age 14. He performed his first show with his father when he was just 8 years old at Madison Square Garden. He then went on to perform his amazing stunts in Australia, Puerto Rico and most of the states in the U.S.

Robbie went solo at age 19 after deciding to lengthen his jumps despite the disapproval of his father. He has since then performed more than 250 professional motorcycle jumps and has set in excess of 20 world records, one of which still stands as the world distance record in a jump contest from a 10ft high ramp and breaking the record at 223ft back in 1994.

Robbie has starred in 8 live television specials highlighting his extraordinary jumps over The Fountain at Caesars Palace, The Grand Canyon, The Building to Building jump in Las Vegas, The Moving Train Jump in Texas,The Limo jump in Las Vegas, The USS Intrepid in NYC, Jump contest in Mississippi and The Volcano Jump at the Mirage in Las Vegas.


Not only has Robbie performed his death defying motorcycle demonstrations on his television specials,he also has appeared on ABC's Wide World of Sports and was the star of the popular television series, "Knievel's Wild Ride".


Robbie is currently planning on returning to Wembley Stadium in London to conquer 16 double-decker buses on the same motorcycle his father attempted and crashed attempting to jump 13. He will then celebrate his retirement by jumping the Snake River Canyon in the Skycycle, a stunt his father also attempted in 1974.


Presently at the age of 49, Kaptain Robbie Knievel is still going strong, striving to keep the "The Most Famous Name on Two Wheels", Knievel a household word... and has done an outstanding job doing just that!
